Stephen L. Start
Chief Executive Officer

In 1979 Stephen founded and has successfully managed SL Start. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology; is a Certified Vocational Evaluator and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Stephen has 30 years of multi-state experience in employment and provision of vocational rehabilitation services. He is also a presenter and author of numerous articles.

Stephen L. Start co-founded and co-chaired the Return to Work which was a coalition of providers and advocates that formed with the single purpose of promoting legislative reform for the Social Security Administration's disability programs return to rework policies. This group had a major impact on the development and passage of the Ticket to Work/Work Incentive Improvement Act of 1999. Stephen was appointed by Dennis Hastert, Speaker of the House, to be a member of the TWWIIA Advisory Panel to oversee implementation of this law.




Richard M. Colliton
President

Rick Colliton combines leadership experience with a solid financial background and in-depth knowledge of SL Start's many lines of business. His background comes from a depth of experience across several different industries. He has expertise in all aspects of business management including marketing, operations, financial and accounting management, market research, and management information systems.

Rick has been with SL Start since 1993 and has played a key role in the company's growth. Rick's leadership, insight and ability to attract and retain key managers during the past decade have enabled the company to grow and maintain high-quality services.

Prior to joining SL Start, Rick served as a product and marketing manager for Microsoft and as a consultant for Arthur Anderson's Private Venture Services Group. He also held the position of CFO and Director of Operations for the Hudson Group, a New York-based private investment group.

Rick is Past President and member of the board of directors of the Inland Empire Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

A certified public accountant, Rick holds a B.A. in business from the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash., and an M.B.A. from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash.



Heather O’Keefe
Chief Financial Officer

Heather O’Keefe joined SL Start in January 2003 as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining SL Start, Ms. O’Keefe held an executive level position in operations at Advanced Digital Information Corporation in Seattle Washington, responsible for the global supply chain for this data storage solution multi-national corporation.

Prior to Advanced Digital Information Corporation, she held the Chief Financial Officer position at Keystroke Technology Solutions, a software development corporation. At Keystroke, Ms. O’Keefe managed the company’s capital financing and cash management activities as well as all investor relationships. Ms. O’Keefe joined Keystroke after spending nine years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), working with clients in a broad array of industries, including high technology, manufacturing, service and not-for-profit. As a senior manager at PwC, she assisted clients in the structuring of merger and acquisition transactions, public stock offerings and complex accounting issues. In this role, Ms. O’Keefe gained experience in the development of effective management information systems and internal control structures.

Ms. O’Keefe holds a B.A. in accounting from the University of Washington and is a Certified Public Accountant.
